In the Umbrian hills, with their silver-shaded olive groves, lies in all its charm Borgo Petroro ,a new Country House located in the castle of the same name, just a short walk away from the town of Todi with all its magic.
It is located in an authentic medieval manor, or more appropriately a fortified hamlet, which had grown strong enough by the end of the 13th century to protect the surrounding area and neighbouring villas, but which was originally founded as a “Castrum” in Ancient Roman times. AAt the entrance to the manor house, on the majestic arched gate, a stone eagle, the Todi coat of arms, welcomes its guests. Thanks to the opening of the Borgo Petroro Country House, the history of the castle has once again awakened interest. It now sees the start of a new chapter consisting of relaxing stays in the elegant surroundings of its inviting spa, characterized by warm and essential furnishings, and in its gourmet restaurant – Locanda Petreja, where unforgettable sensorial experiences are on the menu.
This magical retreat in the green heart of Italy also offers an opportunity to spend time in contact with the surrounding countryside, renowned for its nature. Reaching the knoll, which rises from the often foggy valley floor, reveals, curve after curve, an enveloping and colorful landscape, between Thousands of shades of green (from the lightest to the darkest), of brown (from the warmest to the coldest), of yellow (from the brightest to the palest) and of orange (from the richest to the softest), forever changing according to the season, gratify the eye. Sitting at the top of a panoramic staircase, nestled amongst some glorious Umbrian olive trees, lies the pool overlooking the marvellous town of Todi and the surrounding green hills.
