In the Umbrian hills, with their silver-shaded olive groves, lies in all its charm Borgo Petroro a new Country Relais located in the castle with the same name, just a short walk away from the magical town of Todi.
Borgo Petroro is located in an authentic medieval manor, or more appropriately a fortified hamlet, which was originally founded as a “Castrum” in Ancient Roman times. By the end of the 13th century, Borgo Petroro Castle had grown strong enough to protect the surrounding area and neighbouring villas. At the entrance of the manor, on its majestic arched door, a stone eagle, the emblem of the city of Todi, welcomes its patrons.
Thanks to the opening of Borgo Petroro Country Relais & Restaurant, the history of the castle now sees the start of a new chapter, consisting of relaxing stays, with an inviting spa, characterized by warm and essential furnishings, a gourmet restaurant “Locanda Petreja” and a traditional umbrian kitchen one “La Taverna del Borgo”, where the menu shines with unforgettable sensorial experiences.
Approaching to the hill which rises from the Tiber valley, the street shows an enveloping and colourful landscape, always changing according to the season between thousands shades of green (from the lightest to the darkest), brown (from the warmest to the coldest), yellow (from the brightest to the palest) and orange (from the richest to the softest). From a panoramic garden of olive trees, our swimming pool overlooks the marvellous town of Todi and the surrounding green hills. Here, our guests can nibble on some delicacies and sip on some lovely refreshing drinks, possibly lying on one of the many sofas and sunbeds, under the shadow of our parasols.
